Final Grade Needed Calculator
Stressing about finals? Enter your current course grade, your target overall grade, and how much the final exam is worth, and this calculator tells you exactly what score you need. It also shows the minimum score needed just to pass the course.
The formula is:
Needed Grade = (Desired Grade x 100 - Current Grade x (100 - Final Weight)) / Final Weight
For example, if you have an 82% in a class and want a 90%, with a final worth 30%:
Needed = (90 x 100 - 82 x 70) / 30 = (9000 - 5740) / 30 = 108.7%
That would be nearly impossible without extra credit, so you might need to adjust your target grade.
