California Privacy Rights

This California Privacy Rights notice supplements the information contained in the VastCalc Privacy Policy and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California ("consumers" or "you"). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA), and any terms defined in the CCPA/CPRA have the same meaning when used in this notice.
VastCalc ("we," "us," or "our") operates vastcalc.com (the "Service"), a free online calculator platform providing 615+ calculators across multiple categories. This notice describes the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and the rights available to California residents.
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from consumers:

Information we do NOT collect:
- Social Security numbers
- Financial account numbers, credit or debit card numbers
- Precise geolocation data
- Biometric information
- Protected classification characteristics (race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Sensory data (audio, visual, thermal, or similar)
- Professional or employment-related information
We use the personal information we collect for the following business and commercial purposes:
- Providing the Service: Operating, maintaining, and delivering our calculator platform and its features
- Account management: Creating and managing your user account, authenticating your identity, and maintaining your saved favorites and calculation history
- Improving our calculators: Analyzing usage patterns to improve calculator accuracy, relevance, and the user experience
- Analytics: Understanding how users interact with the Service to optimize performance and develop new features
- Security: Detecting, preventing, and responding to security incidents, fraud, and other malicious or illegal activities
- Legal compliance: Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may disclose your personal information to the following categories of service providers for legitimate business purposes, under written contracts that require them to use the information only for the specified purposes:
- Database hosting providers: For storing and managing account data securely
- Authentication service providers: For secure user authentication and account management
- Infrastructure and hosting providers: For operating and maintaining the Service
We may also disclose personal information if required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of VastCalc, our users, or others.
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA:
- Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected your personal information, the business or commercial purposes for collecting your personal information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share your personal information.
- Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete any personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete your personal information from our records unless an exception applies.
- Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. VastCalc does not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, so there is no need to exercise this right. However, we respect and acknowledge this right.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you the Service, charge you different prices or rates, provide you a different level or quality of the Service, or suggest that you may receive a different price or rate or a different level or quality of the Service.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect or process sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.
To exercise any of the rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by emailing:
Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf (see Section 7), may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information.
Verification process:
- We will verify your identity by matching information you provide in your request with information we already have on file (such as your account email address)
- You may be asked to confirm details associated with your account to complete verification
- If we cannot verify your identity, we may request additional information solely for the purpose of verifying your identity
Response timeline:
- We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 10 business days
- We will respond to your verified request within 45 calendar days of receiving it
- If we need additional time (up to an additional 45 calendar days), we will notify you in writing of the reason and the extension period
You may make a verifiable consumer request up to two times within a 12-month period, free of charge.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. To do so, you must provide the authorized agent with written permission to act on your behalf, and we may require you to verify your own identity directly with us and confirm that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. We may also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and for other legitimate business purposes.
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, including your saved favorites and calculation history, unless we are required to retain certain information by law.
VastCalc does not sell your personal information. VastCalc does not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
We have not sold or shared personal information of consumers in the preceding 12 months. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents who have an established business relationship with us may request information about whether we have disclosed personal information to any third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year.

We reserve the right to amend this California Privacy Rights notice at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the updated notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
