ACT Score Calculator
Plug in your four ACT section scores and instantly see your composite score and estimated percentile. The composite is simply the average of your English, Math, Reading, and Science scores, rounded to the nearest whole number.
Your ACT composite score is calculated by averaging your four section scores:
Composite = (English + Math + Reading + Science) / 4, rounded to the nearest whole number.
What's a Good ACT Score?
- 36: Perfect score (top 1%)
- 30-35: Excellent, competitive for Ivy League and top-tier schools
- 26-29: Above average, competitive for most universities
- 20-25: Average range (national average is about 20.8)
- Below 20: Below average, but improvement is very achievable
For example, if you scored English 28, Math 26, Reading 30, and Science 24, your composite would be (28+26+30+24)/4 = 27, putting you in roughly the 87th percentile.
