GPA Calculator
Your Grade Point Average (GPA) is a crucial academic metric used by colleges, graduate schools, and employers. This calculator uses the standard US 4.0 grading scale. Enter your letter grades and the corresponding credit hours for each course, and the calculator will compute your weighted GPA, total credits, and quality points.
GPA is calculated by dividing total quality points by total credit hours:
GPA = Total Quality Points / Total Credit Hours
Where quality points for each course = Grade Points × Credit Hours
Standard 4.0 scale:
- A+, A: 4.0 | A-: 3.7
- B+: 3.3 | B: 3.0 | B-: 2.7
- C+: 2.3 | C: 2.0 | C-: 1.7
- D+: 1.3 | D: 1.0 | D-: 0.7
- F: 0.0
Courses set to "Not Used" are excluded from the calculation. Credit hours weight the grades, so a 4-credit course has more impact on your GPA than a 1-credit course.
