Pool Volume Calculator

How many gallons does your pool hold? Enter your pool's shape, dimensions, and average depth to calculate the total water volume in gallons, liters, and cubic feet. The calculator also estimates how long it would take to fill using a standard garden hose.

Pool volume formulas:

  • Rectangular: Length x Width x Avg Depth x 7.48 gal/ft³
  • Round: π x Radius² x Avg Depth x 7.48
  • Oval: π x (Length/2) x (Width/2) x Avg Depth x 7.48

Average depth = (shallow end depth + deep end depth) / 2

Knowing your pool volume is essential for:

  • Correct chemical dosing (chlorine, pH adjusters, algaecide)
  • Sizing pumps and filters
  • Estimating water costs
  • Calculating heating requirements
