How to Convert a Decimal to a Fraction
- Count the number of decimal places.
- Write the decimal as a fraction with the appropriate power of 10 as the denominator.
- Simplify by dividing both numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor.
For example, 0.375 has 3 decimal places, so it becomes 375/1000. The GCD of 375 and 1000 is 125, so the simplified fraction is 3/8.
