How Board and Batten Spacing Works
The pattern repeats across the wall: board, gap, board, gap, with battens covering each gap and capping the ends. The spacing cycle is one board width plus one gap width. The calculator divides your wall width by this cycle to determine how many boards fit, then figures out the battens needed to cover every seam.
